VINEYARDS AND
OLIVE GROVES
The property of Terre di
Nano extends over 50 hectares of land in the area called
Nano.
On this land there are
diverse types of vines planted in various eras beginning
in 1970. On approximately 10 hectares Sangiovese,
Canaiolo, Colorino, and Merlot vines have been planted
using a system called ?cordone speronato?; this is where
Terre di Nano's red wines originate. The wines are aged
in our cantina, finished in oak barrels and barriques.
The grape harvest usually takes place the second or
third week in October, and each year guests join our
staff to partake in this exciting experience firsthand.
Our extra virgin olive
oil comes from the olive groves which extend over
approximately 4 hectares of the property surrounding the
villa. In November, many of the guests staying with us
participate in the olive harvest and the production of
cold press oil using the local oil press of
Montepulciano.
If you are interested in
participating in the unique experience of the Tuscan
grape or olive harvest during your stay with us, simply
mention it when you contact us and we will make
necessary arrangements. |
