Barlettaia - Chianti Riserva docg
A very refined wine made from predominantly Sangiovese grapes, though with the addition of some Canaiolo and Colorino, which are all typical grapes of the Val d’Orcia. It takes its name from the Via Barlettaia, the ancient road from Monte Amiata to Montepulciano, and which passes by the Borgo di Monticchiello and by Terre di Nano. The name recalls the “barletta”, a wooden barrel full of water which the travellers and pilgrims of medieval times carried with them.
The Barlettaia is a chianti with a long life, it has a well balanced palate, and is pleasingly soft with hints of wild berries.
